president obama says the worst may be behind us. the past month was not as encouraging from the president's perspective, though, when it comes to the health care debate. both the house and the senate missed white house deadline for action. now members of congress are using the august break to get an assessment whether the folks back home support the sweeping changsz that president obama says are critical. dick durbin and john cornyn of texas. i want to start with the economy. and directly to you mr. cornyn, will the public support something the white house says is critical, another extension of unemployment benefits even though there's a glimmer of hope in the economy? will republicans make that an easy issue? >> i think we need to provide a safety net for people who find themselves out of work temporarily and hopefully the economy will pick up. unfortunately, white house projections are that unemployment, even though it dipped down by one tick will go over 10%. so, you know, it looks like we're in for pretty tough days still ahead.
